Our Third Annual Spring Taste of Block Island is an incredible three day event
which showcases the many
different events and activities island visitors can enjoy - from building
sandcastles and tours to shopping discounts, hotel
packages, restaurant specials and creating your own sundae.
There will be a wide range of events taking place all around the
island - we think that everyone will find something that caters to their
interests!
Our featured event this Spring is the Block Island Chowder Contest and Oyster
festival. You'll have a chance to vote for your favorite chowder - and the
winner will be featured in SO Rhode Island magazine!
Come build an elaborate sandcastle for the Sandcastle contest on the Town Beach.
The Arts Festival held right at the ferry landing will feature many artists
exhibiting their works. You can participate in or watch the free Baggo
Tournament. Or take a leisurely ride around the island in a taxi, with
your driver telling you of island lore and legends. For more historical

Outdoor
enthusiasts will have an opportunity to spend an evening night-sky viewing, be
able to learn how to paddle-board or repair their own bike, tour
an animal farm, or go kayaking as well as take advantage of many discounts
offered by bike and moped rentals.
The food and cooking enthusiasts will have an
opportunity to experience
the actual tastes of Block Island's eclectic cuisine in many restaurants
offering discounts for this unique weekend, and participate in a beer and wine
tasting.
Shopping fans are invited to explore
the local stores and take advantage of discounts offered only during this
weekend. Learn about lobsters or tour a fiber mill - there is something
for everyone this weekend!
Taste of Block Island Buttons
will be available for purchase at the Block Island Chamber of Commerce or aboard any Interstate Navigation Block Island Ferry,
or the Block Island Express Ferry for $5 per button.
